Born in Rovereto (Trentino, Northern Italy) in 1977, he began clarinet lessons at an early age studying with Massimo Zenatti and Paolo Beltramini. He completed his clarinet diploma in 1999 at the “J. Tomadini” Conservatory in Udine. After finishing classical high school he attended various clarinet and saxophone master classes both in Italy and abroad with Alessandro Carbone and Gianni Basso amongst others. He has undertaken courses in orchestral and band conducting with Jan Cober, Maurizio Dini Ciacci, Hardy Mertens, Felix Hauswirth, Ronald Johnson, Jan Van der Roost, Jo Conjaerts and Douglas Bostock; courses in orchestration for band with Carlo Pirola, Franco Cesarini and Roberto Di Marino; harmony with Armando Franceschini and composition with Massimo Priori.
For the past 13 years he has conducted the “Liceo Antonio Rosmini” Wind Orchestra in Rovereto, which he himself founded in 1997, winner of numerous competitions amongst which: overall 1st prize at the first edition of the “Flicorno d’Oro Junior” Band competition, Riva del Garda, Italy in 2001; 2nd prize in the 1st category at the main competition Flicorno d’Oro 2005; 5th prize in the category Superiore at the Flicorno d’Oro 2007; 5th place at the Spanish Certamen International de Valencia in 2007 in category Primera; 2nd prize – the only one awarded - in the 1st category of the Concorso Internazionale in Valle d'Aosta 2008; 1st prize at the World Music Contest 2005 in Kerkrade (NL) (3rd category) followed by further success in 2009 (2nd prize in the 2nd category) – achieving the best result for an Italian band - with 94.32 points; the band also gained overall 1st prize at the IX Concorso Internazionale Bertiolo (UD - Italy) with 94.65 points in 2010). Since 1999 he has conducted the Banda Sociale di Ala (Trentino - Italy) (2nd prize in the 2nd category at the Concorso nazionale in Bertiolo and a special prize awarded by the jury; the band was assigned 2nd category level at the Flicorno d’Oro 2007); he also set up the Ala Junior Band winning 2nd prize in section “A” at the 9th Italian Competition for Youth Bands - "Giovani in concorso" in Costa Volpino in 2009 – as well as performing for the Pope during Easter 2010). 1998-2007 conductor of the Banda Sociale di Cavedine (Trentino) (3rd prize in the 3rd category Concorso nazionale di Ghedi in 2004). 2001-2004 conductor of the Corpo Musicale di Gardolo (Trentino) (1st prize in the 2nd category at the Flicorno d’oro 2003). 2005-2008 conductor of the Musica Cittadina "Riccardo Zandonai" in Rovereto (participating in the famous Rovereto Mozart Festival). 2007-2009 conductor of the Orchestra di Fiati e Percussioni “Filarmonica Mousikè” in Gazzaniga (Bergamo - Italy) gaining 2nd prize in 1st category at the Concorso “La bacchetta d’Oro” in Fiuggi and 2nd prize in the category Eccellenza with 90.02 points at the Concorso Internazionale Valle d'Aosta 2008. Since 2008 he has been conductor of the Musikkapelle Truden (Bolzano, South Tyrol region, Italy). In 2008 conductor of the Banda Rappresentativa Giovanile della Federazione Corpi Bandistici della Provincia di Trento (Trentino regional youth band). Since 2009 conductor of the Banda Cittadina "Gasparo Bertolotti" in Salò (Lake Garda, Lombardy region) with which he has taken part in numerous musical events as part of the town’s official music season. Since 2010 conductor of the Jugendmusikkapelle Truden – Montan – Neumark (Bolzano province, South Tyrol) – a youth band made up of players from the bands of Trodena, Montagna and Egna. Also worth mentioning is the Youth Band representing the provinces of Asti and Alessandria (Piedmont region) as part of the project called “Giovaninbanda” promoted by the ANBIMA Piemonte (Italian National Band Association) and also the Orchestra di Fiati della Provincia di Vicenza (Venice region). In July 2003 he took part in a tour of Spain with the Liceo A. Rosmini Wind Orchestra, invited as guest performers within the 2nd category of the Certamen Internacional di Valencia, where they received a warm welcome at a concert given in the “Palau de la Música” in Valencia with the collaboration of trombone soloist Jacques Mauger. In the same year he conducted the Chamber Orchestra of the Scuola Musicale di Arco performing Carnival of the Animals (C. Saint Saens) and La Creation du Monde (D. Milhaud) and in 2004 the contemporary opera “Peter Pan 2000 – Music is my country”. In September 2002 he took his final examination for the Diploma in Band Conducting of the “Istituto Superiore Europeo Bandistico”, Trento, conducting the European Union Youth Wind Orchestra and in 2004 the Advanced Diploma in Band Conducting with the Civica Banda Musicale di Soncino. In the same year he was an active student in the Orchestral Conducting Course led by Isaac Karabtchevsky as part of the “Musica Riva Festival” (Riva del Garda, Trentino). He has also had the honour of collaborating with musicians of the calibre of Steven Mead, Roger Bobo, Gianluca Grosso, Eros Sabbatani, Carlo Serra, Bert Appermont, Marco Somadossi, Giuliano Moser, Gabriele Cassone, Antonello Mazzucco, Davide Biglieni, Davide Viada, and the aforementioned Jacques Mauger. He currently collaborates with ISEB (Istituto Superiore Europeo Bandistico – based in Mezzocorona in Trentino) as Tutor of the History of Wind Music and Repertoire Studies teaching students from several European countries. During the academic year 2004–2005 he conducted the Symphonic Band of the “E.F.Dall’Abaco” Conservatoire in Verona. In 2005 he was also selected for the 10th International Conducting Competition at the WMC in Kerkrade (NL). He is often invited as a guest conductor both in Italy and abroad, for example with the Rundfunk Blasorchester Leipzig, the Filarmonica Leopolda delle Ferrovie dello Stato in Florence, the Circolo Musicale Parteollese, the European Youth Wind Orchestra, the Civica Banda Musicale di Soncino, la Wind Symphony of the University of Northern Iowa, the Belluno Wind Band, the Nuova Banda of Castelfranco Veneto, the ISEB Wind Ensemble, the Banda Municipal de Pontevedra (Spain), la Banda Rappresentativa Giovanile della Federazione Corpi Bandistici della Provincia di Trento, la Grande Banda Rappresentativa della Provincia di Trento. He currently teaches clarinet at the Scuole Musicali di Arco e Riva del Garda (SMAG, Scuola Musicale Alto Garda).
